Resident of San Jose
Vernon Troylee Wilson – Vern passed away peacefully in his home. He was born in Oklahoma to Van and Gertrude (Dollarhide) Wilson, the family moved to California where Vern graduated from San Jose High School. He enlisted in the Army in 1952 and participated in the 1956 Olympics. VT spent his career as a design engineer in the aerospace and defense industries. He married twice, to Ramona Wilson and Janice (Sutter) Wilson. He is survived by brother James Wilson, children Laura Wilson, Audria Davis, Tyrus Wilson, Aura Wilson & Trevor Wilson. Grandchildren: Natasha, Frank, Savanna, Paige, Tatiana, Kailuaiike, Nainoa, Pohakea & Minco. Great grandson; Jonah. Family & friends are invited to a memorial at San Joaquin Valley Cemetery, 32053 W. McCabe Rd., Santa Nella on 6/10/16 at 11:00 and a celebration on 6/12/16 from 3:30-6 at the Sorensdale Rec. Ctr.,275 Goodwin St., Hayward

Vern Wilson was admired by many including myself. We played basketball together at SJSU. His brother Jim was a great friend also. Vern will not be forgotten for his athletic ability and his being a fine person.
I love you Verne and you made this earth better.

My heartfelt sympathy to James Wilson and the
entire Vern Wilson family for your loss. May you
find comfort in family and friends and in the
precious memories you share. Vernon was a
classmate at San Jose High School where he
excelled in sports. He made us all proud of his
achievement in the high jump at the Olympics.
He was truly a wonderful person and will be missed
by everyone who knew him. May he rest in peace.
