Anthony Mellow Obituary

Resident of Sunnyvale
Anthony K. Mellow Sr., was the second of two sons born to Portuguese immigrants Kayton Mellow and Maria Mellow. The family settled in Mountain View on an orchard where they grew a variety of fruits. Following in the footsteps of his parents, Anthony continued farming in San Mateo & Santa Clara counties. During his San Mateo years he farmed land for A.P. Giannini who was the founder of Bank of Italy which we know today as the Bank of America. Eventually he met the love of his life Eva Jane Mellow nee Salvi and together they went on to settle in Sunnyvale CA.
It was in Sunnyvale where they raised 2 children and started a business selling fruit and plants. They were also one of the original growers for farmers markets in the state of California. Anthony Mellow Sr., was very proud of his Portuguese heritage and was very active in the Portuguese community. He was a wonderful father, a loving grandfather, and a loyal friend to many and he will be deeply missed. Anthony Mellow Sr., is survived by his first born son Anthony Mellow Jr., his daughter Cathy, and his grandchildren Elizabeth, Anthony III, Victoria, Joseph, and Sarah. He was preceded in death by his older brother Joseph and his beloved wife Eva.
