Remembering Barbara from Girl Scout days in Kankakee. I was only slightly acquainted with her, but I was struck by her strong and independent character. Interesting that she had been living nearby (I live in Belmont further north on the Peninsula). From her photo, she seems not to have changed much. Had I met her on the street, I think I would have recognized her. If I recall correctly, she and I were the the last girls in our class to wear our hair in long braids. Nice memories of her.

Sending my sympathy,

I met Barbara through her vending machine business. I thought she was the one of the most inspirational person I have met in my life. She was a mentor to me when I met her. I told her I wanted to come out and ride with her if the opportunity would happen. She always told me of course when she could make the time. I love horse riding and felt a bond with her which you just don't feel with just anybody . I miss you Barbara, but I know you are in a better place.
