Marjorie E. Southard died Nov. 24, 2012. at the age of 66. She was born Aug. 25, 1946, in Chanute, Kan. She was the second of three children born to Oscar Peterson and Helen Jenkins.
She started her career with the United States Postal Service as a postal clerk. She continued her career for years before retiring in 2006 as Postmaster in Arlington, Ariz. During this time she met and married Arlonzo (Tut) Southard on April 3, 1983 and took on his five adult children as her own.
She loved solving the mysteries of genealogy and making connections with long lost family members. Throughout her life she loved exploring the areas that she lived in and traveling to visit friends and family.
In September 2006, she moved to Emmett, Idaho, to begin her retired life with her husband. The Community Bible Church family embraced her and called her one of their own.
Marjorie was preceded in death by her father, Oscar Peterson, her mother, Helen Jenkins Peterson, her brothers, Raymond and Glen Peterson and her son, Scotty Turf.
She leaves behind her husband Arlonzo (Tut) Southard; her aunt, Hazel Thiessen; her niece, Deirdre Earley; as well as her five children by marriage who blessed her with 11 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
She will be deeply missed by a host of family found through her genealogy and a loving church family.
She was involved in the lives of all her family and will truly be missed by all. Per her wishes a memorial services will not be held.
