Edward Marvin Schave Obituary
Edward Marvin Schave, 83, of Harbor Beach, passed away Sunday, Aug. 26, 2018, at Harbor Beach Community Hospital. He was born on June 27, 1935 in Harbor Beach to the late Otto and Laura (Detgen) Schave. Ed served in the U.S. Army from 1958-1960. He and Anita Gentner were united in marriage on Feb. 3, 1962 in Harbor Beach. Ed worked for Ford Motor Company as a Machine Operator, and retired after 20 years of service. Ed was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Port Hope. He enjoyed working with wood and working with his hands. He especially enjoyed reading the Handyman Magazine. Ed is survived by his wife Anita Shave of Harbor Beach; son Jeffrey Schave of Harbor Beach; daughter Christine Schave of Harbor Beach; three grandchildren Ryan, Kyle and Corey Wolschlager; his brother Walter Schave of Port Hope; sister Mabel Siemen of Coopersville; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his siblings Alfred Schave, Dorothy Pawlitz, Frances Berndt, Arthur Schave and Arnold Schave. Funeral Services for Ed will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2018, at St. John Lutheran Church of Port Hope, with Rev. David Dodge officiating. Burial will follow in the Lakeview Cemetery. Visitation for Ed will begin at 9 a.m. Wednesday at the church on Wednesday until time of services at 11 a.m. Arrangements are being handled by the Ramsey Funeral Home of Harbor Beach.
