Florence B. Clayton Obituary
Florence B. Clayton, 72, of Port Austin, died Nov. 13, 2017. She was born in Ann Arbor on July 19, 1945, to Weldon and Dorothy (Root) Emerson. She was a member of the Port Austin Protestant Church and was formerly active with the Port Austin Community Players as well as Thumb Youth for Christ. She is survived by two children David (Julie) Ruark of Lansing and Beth (Dane) Bezemek of Davisburg; six grandchildren Allen Bezemek, Emily Bezemek, Danielle Bezemek, Erin Ruark, Ian Ruark and Cathleen Bezemek; two step-children Judy (Duane) Emlinger of Ionia and Leslie (Michelle) Clayton of Columbus, Ohio; brothers Paul (Joyce) Emerson of Milan and Bert (Lynne) Emerson of Okemos; sister Nancy (Max) Finkbeiner of Saline; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her two husbands David Ruark and Norman Clayton; her parents; and granddaughter Anna Ruark. Services were held in November in Holly, Michigan, with internment at Forest Hill Cemetery in Ann Arbor. Because Flo always liked a gathering, an informal outdoor celebration of her life will take place from 4 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 2, 2018, at her home. Anyone wishing to attend should bring a lawn chair. Condolences can be shared at www.macalpinefuneralhome.com
