Kristen Males Carl Obituary
Kristen Males Carl, 40, of Port Huron, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Aug. 29, 2018. Kristen grew up in Bad Axe and graduated from Bad Axe High School in 1995. Kristen graduated from the University of Michigan Flint in 2005. She majored in French language and English and taught French in the North Branch school district for 10 years. Kristen is survived by her parents, John and Melissa Males of Manistique; her sister Dyana (Bradley) Gebauer of Laingsburg; and her son Landen Carl, whom she adored deeply. Kristen was an advocate for autism awareness, a passionate lover of animals, all things French, and had a compassionate heart. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Raymond and Ione Males and Mary and Carl Erlind Nordstrom. We were blessed to learn many valuable lessons from Kristen in her 40 years. Among them, high heels are always appropriate, 80s rock fixes everything, learn French, and love each other deeply. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Huron Intermediate Schools Learning Center-Transition House for student's with cognitive impairments to learn work-based skills. A graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 1, 2018, at the Colfax Township cemetery with Rev. Michele Hile officiating. Friends and family are welcome and may pay their respects at that time. Condolences can be shared at www.macalpinefuneralhome.com
