JoAnn and I were remembering about the many times we always passed Neil and Patty at the movies or the restaurants, so we decided to finally go together. We haven't done that for awhile, now I wish we had. We are praying for you all and he will be missed by many. Neil was one of "really good guys."

Neil was a great coach and person. I was
previleged to coach with him at the old

joyous moment but He will be missed by

I first met Neil and Patty through my friend Julie. They made her part of their family. She loved going on vacations and sun bathing at the Painter's pool.

My husband, Jim does heating & air and Neil was having problems with his. Jim fixed it, but when he arrived home, he said, "You never told me that was THE Neil Painter" I discovered, Neil had been my husband's football coach and shop teacher. My husband had respect and great memories of Neil. I joked with Neil stating, I didn't realize he was so famous.

Recently, during the holidays, I spoke with Neil and Patty at LaRosa's. When they left two young employees ask me if that was Mr. Painter. I realized he was in the true sense of the word, famous, for he also created fond memories for them.

Also, Neil was part of the prayer team at church and prayed for me and my family. His prayers gave me hope and comfort.

There are many scriptures that come to my mind when I think of Neil, one is; Mark 8:35-If you try to keep your life for yourself, you will lose it. But if you give up your life for my sake and for the sake of the Good News, you will find true life. Thank you Neil for teaching us all, with your life this simple truth.

I will miss Neil and my heart & prayers go out to Patty and their children. Again, I have comfort & hope, for I know Neil was welcomed and celebrated in heaven with our friend, Julie.

Mr. Painter was my football coach in the 9th grade at Middletown Freshman High School in 1971. He cared about his players and made football fun. We went undefeated that year. He gave me a ride home after practice one time and we had a very nice talk. I will always remember him. I never saw him again after my 9th grade year but his influence and guidance has stayed with me all these years. May God bless his family.
