Ethel Curtis, 93, of Durham, wife of the late Donald Curtis, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 22, 2013 at Twin Maples Healthcare in Durham. While her husband was serving active duty during World War II, Ethel worked at Durham Manufacturing. Prior to her retirement in 1980, she was employed at the Durham Post Office. Ethel's priority in life was her dedication to the American Legion Unit 184 and its related organizations.
She is survived by her daughter, Donna Joslyn of Durham and her grandson, Kenneth Dale, Jr. of North Carolina. She was predeceased by her granddaughter, Tammy Dale. Donna and Ken...I am so sorry for your loss. I have so many fond and fun memories of "ZIP'... Hours spent at our kitchen table with my Mom and Ethel..talking...laughing...She was a big part of my life as a child into adulthood...I will always cherish those memories with a smile...My thoughts and prayers are with you...
