Cantwell, Michael
Michael J. Cantwell, 82, of Middletown, died Monday, February 1, 2021 at Middlesex Hospital. He was born in Middletown and is the son of Michael P. and Madeline (Corbett) Cantwell. Michael graduated from Middletown High in 1956 and then served in the US Navy. He then owned Cantwell automotive before working 40 years with American Contractors. Michael was a member of the Middletown Eagles Club and Moose Club and enjoyed conversing at the First and Last Tavern. He was a lover of classic cars, the NY Giants, Dolly Parton, and a good cold beer. Michael was a solid, hard-working man, who enjoyed the company of his family and friends. He was a dependable person, always willing to provide help, advice, support, and guidance. Michael's warmth, sense of humor, and simple nature were easily impressed upon those that he knew, an impression that will carry on in each of us. Michael was a very special person, one who will "forever" be loved, cherished, and greatly missed, by so many. Michael was predeceased by sisters Ilene, Francis, and Maureen, and is survived by his sons, Dean Cantwell, Michael Cantwell, Jr, Ernie Cantwell, Patrick Cantwell, Daniel Lane; daughter, Angeline Cantwell and Heather Lane; sisters, Doddy and Rose Marie, and several grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Graveside services with military honors will be held on Friday (February 5th) at 1 p.m. at the State Veterans' Cemetery. Calling hours will be on Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Biega Funeral Home, 3 Silver St., Middletown. All are welcome to attend. I am so sorry to read about the death of your Father, Mr Cantwell. Please accept my deepest condolences. I did not have the opportunity to know him personally, but I read his obituary and he seemed to be such a nice person, and I know he will be dearly missed. I hope that the happy memories you have of him will help you deal with your loss. My thoughts are with your family today.

In loving memory of a wonderful person. We will love you and miss you always........................, Missing our good old days ,staying with your family when I had no where
else to go at the ripe old age of 13. When your mom & dad had enough to do, putting up
with you and Dottie's tricks. mostly Dottie but you were not innocent either but we all had
them beat. The last time I saw you was when you, I, Dottie and you son Dale wet to the last class reunion.
I'm sorry I cannot go to your services, but my health is not up to it If anyone reads this please tell Dottie to get in touch with me.
I have tried for months and can't locate her. Rest in peace my adopted brother and to the family my deepest condolences.

There was a small park across the street and all the kid’s gathered their and played according to the season.

Even though you were SR and me JR our paths very rarely crossed. I'm extremely glad that one of my few trips back to CT I was able to make contact and had a visit. So surprised listening to some of your stories that I had more in common with than I ever thought. God Bless and see you in the next life.
