Miramant, Wallace R. Sr.
Wallace R. Miramant, Sr. of Meriden passed away on Friday, December 29, 2017 at Hartford Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Barbara Wendover Miramant for 70 years. Born in Meriden, the son of Dorothy M. Sambone Miramant and Wallace C. Miramant, he had been a Meriden resident most of his life. Wallace attended Meriden schools, UConn Agricultural School and was last employed by York Hill/L. Suzio Co.
Wallace was a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus, BPOE #771 of Middletown and a member of MAPS (Middlesex Area Patient Services) for multiple sclerosis. He was a Eucharistic Minister for many years and volunteered his services to Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church of Meriden whenever needed. Wallace also gave many hours in time and effort to the Holy Family Retreat House in West Hartford as well as going on retreat for 35 years. Let's not forget his diehard interest in the NY Yankees and UConn basketball and his favorite times were spent with his family and friends at Cape Cod.
He is survived by his son, Daniel A. Miramant and his wife Diane; three grandchildren, Jason and his wife Melinda, Jennifer and Matthew; three great-grandchildren, Grace, Avery and Noah. He is also survived by his brother, Allan and wife Edith; two sisters, Barbara Patzke and Janet Yarmolovich; and many nieces, nephews and friends. He was predeceased by his son, Wallace R. Miramant, Jr. and his brother, Richard from Cincinnati, OH.
There will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, January 3, 2018 (TODAY) at 10 a.m. at Our Lady Queen of Angels, Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Campus, 109 Goodwill Ave, Meriden, CT, 06451. Burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Our Lady Queen of Angels Parish, 109 Goodwill Ave, Meriden, CT, 06451. Arrangements are under the direction of the John J.
