Submit obituaries to

no later than noon Monday for publication in Thursday’s newspaper*.
Obituaries must be paid in full prior to publication for anyone who does
not have a customer account with the Middletown Transcript. If submission
does not come directly from a funeral home, we require either a certificate
of death to accompany the submission or a funeral home to contact for
verification of the deceased. The pricing structure works as follows:
First 10 column inches (about 350 words): $149
Every inch over standard 10 inches (about 35 words): $17 per inch
Accompanying photograph: $35
After submission, you will receive a proof and price for the obituary.
If prepayment is required, the obituary will not run if it remains unpaid.
* The deadline for submission in an issue during a holiday week may be
earlier. Please contact the newspaper directly if you are submitting an
obituary during a holiday week
