I remember playing Big Ball against Bill in the 80s. I was always happy to play Bill & Nancys song Islands in the Stream whenever I was DJing at an event they were attending. My deepest condolences to the family in this difficult time.

To my cousins Bobby and Robin and Bill's children, I am very sorry for your sudden loss. I know that you will miss him but be assured that he is enjoying everlasting peace, especially in the company of Aunt Elaine, Uncle Ed and my parents Charlie and Lucille.
Childhood memories of visits to my Odessa family (Aunt Elaine and Uncle Ed's and Bill's houses), the back staircase from the kitchen, crabbing with chicken necks off the pier across from the canning company, Tuckahoe and eating muskrat and duck are some of the things that I fondly recall about Bill and your families.
I will keep you all in my prayers and may he rest in peace.

The words are so hard to say for a persons lifetime. But we lost one of our own today. He had so many roles, father, grandfather, husband, mentor, friend. I met Bill in 1978 when I joined. A time most companies including our own had no women. Bill supported me in the faces of others. I lost an election one year and ran home. He called me and said get back down here, you have to support your opponent & show your not a coward. At a time our companies forged together, he stood forward in support of me as a firefighter. Hed say, I think you done good. Junior officers were encouraged to ask to run incidents, because of Bill. He was a joker at times too. We were to march in a parade one year and got lost when a van passed with Smokey the Bear. Immediately he said, follow Smokey. !! I wont forget the impact you had on my life. I hope your path is clear to the table now. God speed Bill, and thank you. Susie
