Marjorie M. Massey Obituary
Marjorie M. "Marge" Massey, 83, of Hamilton, Ill., passed away Sept. 17, 2019, at Memorial Hospital, in Carthage, Ill.

Marjorie was born July 24, 1936, in Basco, Ill., the daughter of Lauren and Vera (Bradley) Agnew.

On June 9, 1956, she was united in marriage with Leroy "Jack" Massey at First Christian Church in Hamilton. He preceded her in death in 1993.

A lifelong resident of the Hamilton area, Marjorie was also a member of the Hamilton United Methodist Church for many years. She was employed in production at Sheller-Globe for 33 years, until her retirement in 1998. In her free time, Marjorie enjoyed watching sports of all kinds, especially if the St. Louis Cardinals were playing. She was also her grandchildren's biggest cheerleader, always attending their sports games and ringing her cowbell to cheer them on. She loved the holidays, and enjoyed bringing her family together to share them with her. She was also very good at crocheting, and her hand-made baby blankets were treasured by all who received them. Marjorie's other hobbies included planting flowers, watching birds and reading books. Most importantly, she will be remembered for her great love for her family.

Marjorie is survived by five children, Larry (Jean) Massey of Canton, S.D., Deborah (William) Felgar of Keokuk. Steven Massey of Warsaw, Linda Massey of Hamilton, and Donna Massey of Hamilton; four grandchildren, Lance (Stephanie) Sears of Austin, Texas, Jeffrey Felgar of St. Charles, Ill., Thomas (Stefanie) Felgar of St. Charles, and Ryley Massey of Warsaw; and one great-granddaughter, Addison Felgar. Other survivors include her lifelong best friend, Louella Vincent, of Mountain Home, Ark.; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Leroy; her brother Robert Agnew; and her granddaughter Brooke Massey.

Funeral services will be at noon Saturday, Sept. 21, at Printy Funeral Home in Hamilton, with burial to follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Hamilton.

Visitation will be at the funeral home from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, directly before the service.
