Dear Family of Sally Jo Simmons, Please accept my condolences on the recent death of your beloved Sally Jo. A few words especially to Sally Jo's parents: I relate to your grief for I, also, am a bereaved parent, having suddenly lost my daughter, Melinda Rose Silva, @ age 28, on 1/6/05. And, so, I extend to you special bereaved parent condolences for the difficult lifelong deep grief journey you are now traveling.
I write, also, to let you know that I and several other area bereaved parents have recently formed the Modesto/Riverbank Area Chapter of The Compassionate Friends, a non-profit grief support group for parents, grandparents & adult (over 18) siblings who have experienced the death of a child of any age due to any cause at any time. We will hold our next grief support meeting on Thursday, September 10th, @ 7pm @ the Community CASA, 2201 Morrill Rd. (NE Corner @ Oakdale Rd.), Riverbank.
You are invited to join us on the 10th (or thereafter on the second Thursday of the month, same time, same place); no pre-registration is necessary. Probably of particular interest to Sally Jo's siblings is that we have a Sibling Group as part of our Chapter and, at our September 10th meeting, we'll provide the opportunity for a separate Sibling Sharing Session. .
If you would like more information or "just to talk", perhaps about the specialness of Sally Jo, you are invited to contact me, Joanna Rose-Murray, @ 209-484-8276 and/or @ [email protected]. My prayers and healing thoughts are with you during this very difficult time of your deep grief journey.
May you experience some blessings along the way, Joanna
