Concetta (Connie) Stango James Armstrong
March 24, 1929 - July 2, 2018
Connie, 89, passed away peacefully at Casa de Modesto after a brief illness.
Connie was the only child of Catherine (neè Petralia) and Anthony Stango. She was born and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Her maternal grandparents who assisted in raising her were Joseph and Venera (neè Natte) Petralia from Catania, Italy and Merrina, Italy respectively.
In her early 20s Connie attended Drury College in Springfield, Missouri to study music and psychology. In 1949, she met and married Edward B. James. They had 2 sons, Jim James and Dale James. In 1954, they moved from Nebraska to Modesto, Ca.
Connie married her second husband, Al Armstrong, in 1966. They enjoyed long careers in the financial business world eventually founding their own company California Financial. Upon retirement, she and Al loved to travel in their motorhome especially to Palm Springs.
Connie was preceded in death by her parents, maternal grandparents, and Al Armstrong. Connie is survived by her sons, Jim (Ali) and Dale (Michele); grandchildren Jessica Garcia (Art), Jonathon James (Katie), Seth Aiken-James and Ryan Aiken-James. She is also survived by step-son Chet Armstrong. She also has six great-grandchildren.

Visitation is Sunday July 15th, 2018 from 4pm-8pm at Salas Bothers Funeral Chapel, 419 Scenic Dr. Modesto, Ca. Interment services will be held Monday, July 16, 2018 at 10am at Acacia Memorial Park, 801 Scenic Dr. Modesto, Ca. (Gravesite is in the Scenic Dr. and Bodem St. section across from Senior Center).
