Dennis Dudley
March 25, 1951 - March 25, 2021
Modesto, California - Dennis Edward Dudley passed peacefully at home on his 70th birthday. He was born in San Francisco and brought home to Modesto by his loving parents, Mabel and Edward Dudley.
He enjoyed his school years at John Muir and Downey High School (Class of '69) and continued his education at CSU Stanislaus, earning a Master's in Public Administration. His career path took him from Youth Advocacy to devoting most of his work years to services provided to the elderly at regional and federal levels.
Dennis is survived by his devoted (and very lucky) wife of 34 years, Tiina, sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Kati and Valdek Parik of Beaverton, OR, and niece and her husband, Marika and Bobby Klein of Hillsboro, OR. He found joy in celebrating any occasion with family and friends, in music, cooking and travel. Dennis was never at a loss for words that would bring out smiles and laughter from all.
In his memory, please reach out to your loved ones and circle of friends, share hugs and enjoy a glass of wine together.

I think of you often....

Only the curious have something to find.
Sean Watkins
Song lyrics can be surprising sources of insight, like this line from Nickel Creek´s song "This Side" (written by band member Sean Watkins) off their 2002 album of the same name. The track chronicles the story of a person experiencing things for the first time, including all the fear that comes along with change. Slowly, the person becomes more comfortable and can explore new opportunities with confidence. It inspires us to approach the world through a lens of curiosity - to strike out and find and do new things. Because if we remain at home, in a place where we´re comfortable, we´ll never discover anything bigger or find the courage to be comfortable with anything else.

Tina - I am SO sorry (and shocked) to see this! God bless and comfort you during this difficult time.
(Dennis & I went to High School together, and you and I got to know each other a little when we saw each other at Vintage Faire Rehab, Feb 2019, when we were both visiting our loved ones.)

Dennis and I served on a board together, ate a lot of meals together and became close friends. We shared Christmas gifts, Denis sent me olive oil and I sent Edam Cheese from Mississippi State University. What a great man that loved his roots with the trips back to his parents home land. His service to this country was special, because he loved people and put that into all his work. I am so blessed to have known Dennis and to have broken bread with him.

Dennis and I were busboys at a steakhouse together while in high school. I became fast friends with this hard working, positive, shining soul. I could tell he would be a success, and he did it by always working the system to help people. I will miss this fine man.

Dennis was one, of a handful of kids, growing up, in our safe, little High St. neighborhood. We all, had many adventures together, back then. May his memory be eternal.

Dennis was such a light to those around him! He had a way of making everyone feel like they were very important to him and probably because they were! I will treasure my Dennis memories and think of him often!

Dennis was a good friend, loyal and up for any adventure. I can still remember the many ski trips to Tahoe and 6 of us crowding into a hotel room to save some money.
His Econoline van was a place of delight and discovery. We thought we were real rebels on the cutting edge. What we were was just kids having innocent fun. He will be missed, but the memory of the fun times will last as long as I do.
