Jeffrey Alltus Obituary
February 5, 1955 –
June 4, 2016
Jeff always said that today was a good day to go to Heaven, and he went Saturday, June 4, 2016 after a battle with cancer. Jeff was born in Modesto, California, to Vernon and Faith (Frederick) Alltus, the fifth of six siblings. Jeff graduated from Thomas Downey High School in Modesto in 1973 and from California State University Stanislaus in 1978. He was a committed and passionate follower of Jesus throughout his life.
Jeff moved to Hayden, Idaho in 1982 where his children Lindsey and Ryan were born. Jeff's love of the outdoors is what took him north, and he fished, hunted, and camped at every opportunity. Jeff was a founding member of New Life Community Church and served in the Idaho House of Representatives from 1994-2000.
Jeff married Janice (Higgins) Carpenter in 2000. Jan brought two children, Chase and Megan, into the marriage. He and Jan eventually purchased a winter home in Panama on the Caribbean. For years, he co-taught a weekly men's Bible study. Jeff would help anyone with anything, and he was always dropping in to use one of his numerous talents for good. More than anything, Jeff loved to spend time with his family, and hunting was his passion.
He always said he was the most blessed person he knew, but really we were the ones blessed to know him. He will be deeply, dearly missed.
He is survived by his wife, Jan; his children, Lindsey (Louis) Swingrover, Ryan, Megan (Michael) Gray, and Chase (Anna) Carpenter; grandchildren Payton, Finley, Hudson, Soren, Kelyn, Bella, and Ezra; siblings Larry Alltus, Vickie Lepley, Susan Moran, and Patty Ford; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Richard Alltus, and his nephew Patrick Alltus.
A service will be held on Thursday, June 16, 2016 at 2 pm at Candlelight Christian Fellowship in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Hospice House of North Idaho.

Hi grampa! Hope you are haveing fun in heaven. You'd be proud hopefully if you where still here.You're dauter or my mom ran for cda schools and life is good i almost broke my knee. So love you hopefully i see you advetally.
