April 13, 1988 - August 20, 2016
Justin Kepler, 28, was called home to be with the Lord on August 20, 2016 in a tragic motorcycle accident. He was an amazing son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, friend, and an excellent police officer.
He was born on April 13, 1988 in San Jose, California to Terry and Rhonda Kepler. He attended Modesto Junior College, where he studied Criminal Justice classes in order to pursue his dream of becoming a police officer. Growing up in a police family, he wanted to follow in his dad's footsteps, as did his brothers who both are currently California Highway Patrol officers. After accepting the job offer from Stockton Police Department, Justin completed his academy training in 2012. Since graduating, he has obtained the status of Field Training Officer and was recently assigned to specialize in impaired driving enforcement.
Justin excelled at many things in life. He was a skilled musician, mastering the guitar and violin. He loved playing with his dogs, Lady and Remi, who already miss Justin very much. He loved relaxing on his days off by playing video games, shooting, working on his motorcycle, and being with his family and friends. He enjoyed being a prankster and making people laugh. He was known by many for his humble approach on life and calm presence.
Justin is survived by his mother, Rhonda, older brother Kyle, younger brother Cody (Beth), and sister Shelley. He is preceded in death by his father, Terry Kepler, his paternal grandmother, Helen Kepler, and his grandfather Donald McDowell.
We greatly appreciate the tremendous amount of support, love and prayers we have received during this difficult time.
The memorial service will be held on Friday, August 26, at 10 AM at Bear Creek Community Church in Lodi, California. Graveside will be immediately following at Burwood Cemetery in Escalon, California. There will be a reception to follow at Office of Education Wentworth Building - Burwood Auditorium, 2707 Transworld Dr., Stockton, CA 95206. www.cvobituaries.com
