Lisa Michelle Stone
May 24, 1971 - June 28, 2018
Lisa Michelle Stone, age 47, unexpectedly passed away on Thursday, June 28th, 2018 surrounded by family. Lisa was born on May 24th 1971 to Maureen and Floyd Stone in Modesto, CA. She was the youngest child of 4 siblings. Lisa was a graduate of Thomas Downey High School, class of 1989. Lisa grew up in the Modesto area but recently purchased her first home in Atwater, CA just last year. She had 1 child, her daughter Aimee in May of 1993 and recently gained a son in law in October of 2015, whom she loved dearly.
Lisa loved to read, write poetry and stories, cook (her homemade Zuppa Toscana soup was a Christmas staple), sing karaoke songs (one of her favorites was "Love Shack"), gamble at the slot machines, watch supernatural shows (her favorite was the X-Files), her dog Scamp, but most of all she loved to spend time with her daughter and family. Lisa was currently the Food Safety Coordinator at Sensient Dehydrated Flavors. She worked hard to provide her daughter with the best life possible, as a single mother, since the age of 22. Lisa was a strong and independent woman. She was dearly loved by those around her and formed many lasting friendships along the way.
Lisa was the voice of reason for many of those close to her and was always someone to turn to for advice, support, or even just a listening ear. She was a hero in the eyes of her daughter. Lisa was a devoted daughter, adoring mother, beloved sister and aunt as well as loyal friend. Lisa cared deeply for her family, friends, and those around her. She will be truly missed by so many.
Lisa is preceded in death by her father, Floyd Stone; her brother, Randy Stone; and her sister-in-law, Debbie Stone. She is survived by her mother Maureen Stone; her daughter and son-in-law, Aimee and Wesley Snell; sister and brother-in-law, Sheila and Tom Stovall; brother and sister-in-law, Mike and Janice Stone; and 31 nieces and nephews.
Family, friends, and others whose lives Lisa has touched are invited to Franklin and Downs Funeral Home, 1050 McHenry Ave., Modesto, CA 95350 on Saturday, July 14th, 2018 at 11 a.m. for a memorial service with reception immediately following.
