Robert Harold Barringer
June 1930 ~ March 2014
  Robert Barringer, 83, of Turlock, passed away at Elness Convalescent Hospital. Bob was born in the Bronx New York to Dudley and Anna Barringer. He was raised in the Bronx by his mother Anna and Step Father Lewis Tonks. He graduated from a Technical High School in New York that specialized in aviation. He left home and joined the Air Force where he served in many places around the world including service in the Korean War. When stationed at Castle AFB in California he met a Turlock girl, Mary Plunkett, and they were married in 1950. After his military service Bob worked 39 years for PacBell (now AT&T) as a supervisor and trainer in communications systems.
  A tough, proud veteran, he was a very intelligent man with strong Christian morals and values. "Grandpa Bob" was at the birth of his grand kids and every birthday party. He loved his family and they loved him very much. They are thankful for all the love and support he has given them throughout the years. His memory will live on forever in their hearts.
  Bob was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Mary Barringer, their 3 children Kenny (Debbie) Barringer, Kevin Barringer, and Kristi Barringer, all of Turlock, 2 grandchildren: Sylvia Gonzales and Kenneth Barringer Jr (Shauna), 6 great-grandchildren, and a sister Dolores Grindall.
  Visitation will be at Allen Mortuary on Wed, April 2nd from 4 to 7 pm. Funeral Service will be at First Baptist Church in Turlock at 11 am on Thursday April 3rd. Burial with military honors will be held at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery at 12:30pm on Monday, April 7th. Memorial contributions are encouraged for Operation Heal Our Patriots, a project of Samaritans' Purse that encourages the relationships and faith of military families.
