TIna Powers Stanfield

Our beautiful Mother lifted her spirit to our Heavenly Father on Sept. 4, 2018. Tina radiated sunshine, joy, faith, generosity, and love throughout her lifetime. She always brightened someone's day with her thoughtfulness, kindness, cheerfulness, and good advice, we loved her dearly.
Born on Valentine's Day in Newark, New Jersey Athena was the youngest of Anastasios Karlas and Ourania Logothetis ten children. She had a wonderful childhood and attended school in Wisconsin and the San Francisco bay area. Athena received numerous awards for outstanding achievement in music, penmanship, swimming, and bowling. She participated in several school clubs and had many friends.
Upon finishing school Tina married Adolf Heinsaar and started their family. Soon afterwards, she began working at Disneyland, one of her most favorite places throughout the years! She also entered the field of fitness, working for the renowned Vic Tanny Health Clubs in the San Francisco bay area. Always an Entrepreneur, in 1963, Tina opened a very successful woman's fitness club "Tina's Body Beautiful". Her clients loved her fun, energetic, happy, and giving spirit!
In 1969 Tina married Joseph Powers of Stockton, together they ran Powers Roofing in Stockton, CA. and then Pine Acres Resort in Pioneer, CA. Later in life Tina worked in property management and owned several business, one of her most successful was "Special Delivery" a balloon bouquet business in Stockton. In 1997 Tina married Gary Stanfield of Modesto, in a beautiful ceremony at St. Basil's Greek Church of Stockton.They enjoyed many years together, traveling, attending plays and concerts, hosting family events, dining, dancing, participating in Almond Growers Conferences and giving generously to the Church, community, family and friends.
Our beloved Mother devoted herself to her family, serving as Secretary and Vice President of the PTA, Girl Scout Troop Leader and many other school and church related events. She also volunteered and supported the Catholic Daughters of the Americas and won many awards for her beautiful table settings at various local Fairs and events. Tina enjoyed international travel, entertaining, shopping, gift giving, interior design, fashion, fitness, beauty, dancing, and music. She was an individual of strong character, generosity, faith, excellence, dedication, and unwavering love. Always staying true to the principals of her beloved parents, as directed through the Word of God, she set an example for us to follow from our earliest years. May God bless her eternally.
Tina is survived by her beloved husband Gary and his family of Modesto. Loving children Linda Heinsaar, Donna Mershon, Becka Schumacher (Dennis), Stasie Heinsaar, and Joseph Powers Jr. Dear sisters Gail Chudacoff and Rose Strich, 10 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Prayer Vigil & Rosary service on Thursday September 13, 2018 from 1-3 pm at Franklin & Downs Funeral Home, 1050 McHenry Ave. in Modesto. The Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, September 14, 2018 at 10:00 am at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, 1200 Maze Blvd. in Modesto. Committal services will be private.
