Trevor Seever Obituary

Trevor Seever
April 24, 1991 - December 29, 2020
Modesto, California - Trevor Seever passed away unexpectedly on December 29, 2020. Trevor was born on April 24, 1991 to David and Darlene Seever in Modesto. After graduating from Davis High School in 2009, he attended San Jose State University, earning a Bachelor's Degree in health and science in 2019. He was aspiring to become a physical education teacher. Trevor was an avid sports enthusiast, but that was surpassed by his love for refereeing and umping, football, basketball and baseball. He had a passion for reffing high school sports in the Modesto area for the past 10 years. Trevor joined the Northern California Officials Association South as a football official in 2011 and for baseball in 2017. His knowledge of football was unparalleled to most his age, receiving a section title final game, which less than 10% of officials receive. Trevor had a great love for his family, which was equaled by his love of his dog of 8 years, "Cookie". He made an impact on everyone he met, and his passion for every endeavor he took on in his life will be sorely missed. We love you and miss you, Trevor.
Trevor leaves behind his parents, David Seever and Ray and Darlene Ruiz, his siblings, Kyle Seever, Allison Seever, Shaylea Seever and Leland Seever. Trevor also leaves behind his grandparents, Dixie Prather and Donna Seever. Trevor is preceded in death by his grandfathers, Bob Seever, Bill Prather and Tim Boot.
Deegan Funeral Chapels is honored to serve the Seever/Ruiz family. A visitation is scheduled for Thursday, January 7th from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at Deegan Ripon Memorial Chapel followed by a private service for family and friends. Please consider donations in Trevor's memory to Northern California Officials Association (NCOA) and contact Jerry Ford at 209-487-3651.

Words cannot express my feelings with the loss of Trevor. It was a pleasure to know him in the brief time I knew him at SJSU. He overcame many obstacles to earn his Kinesiology degree and it is unfortunate he was never able to continue in his quest to become a licensed educator. He is forever part of the SJSU PETE (Physical Education Teacher Education) family.

I am deeply saddened by this unexpected loss of Trevor. I worked with him many times Officiating on the same high school football crew as well as high school and off season baseball games. I was very proud of him working his way thru school and recently, graduating San Jose State. I will sure miss him. Gone too soon!

I only met and knew Trevor through my friendship with Darlene and Kyle but I am so upset about their loss as a family. I have children myself and fear the idea of losing either and I know that what you are going through Darlene is a pain that no one can ease, but I do believe and hope that time and prayer and Faith will restore your heart. Kyle I am very saddened that youve lost your older brother, and I hope that you are able to cope with this loss and remain strong through the mourning process. I miss you friend and I will be praying for you guys and your family.

As a long time teacher educator and one of Trevor’s aunts, I always loved talking to him about his plans to become a physical education teacher. He had such tremendous expertise as a referee and umpire, in addition to his college degree in kinesiology. But what his family, friends, and children who would have been his students in the future will miss the most, will be his big heart ❤. With much love to Darlene, Ray, Kyle, Allie, and all Trevor’s family, Aunt Nadeen and Uncle Bob
