Hi Daddy. You are missed by so many which was apparent at your memorial service. You were remembered for your generosity and big hugs. Everyone was always welcomed at your house and for your hard handshakes. I remember sittting on your lap as a child watching Ed Sullivan and you smoking your pipe which I loved smelling. You were a great Dad and I will miss you always. Patti

My fondest memories....At Grandpa's house...

Grandpa was always there with open arms, an open house, and even an open wallet.

I remember growing up, Grandpa's house was the place to be....just about every month there was a family gathering for something; be it birthdays, anniversaries, Christmas Dinner, Easter, graduations, family announcement parties, or just a backyard BBQ to be together as a family... it was all held at Grandpa's house. At Grandpa's house: we laughed, we swam in the pool, we played pool, we ate, and we drank (well, the grown-ups drank) we sang, we yelled, we fought, we cried, we rejoiced...all at Grandpas house.

Grandpa had a great big heart... there to greet all the girls with a great big bear hug, and there to greet all the men with a stern tough hand-shake that could knock one to the ground.

Everyone was always happy just to be at grandpas house. We all had so much fun, sometimes we got a little loud. Grandpa with his military background would walk into the room and yell with a stern, firm voice "ten hut!" which carried over all ours. A silence would fall over the room, but only for a moment. Then, Grandma would correct him, "Fred, cut that out!". And we all laughed and went back to whatever it was that we were doing before. It was all about love at Grandpa's house.

Grandpa was the kindest and most generous man I have ever known...He didn't come from money, now did he horde money. He was always there to lend a hand any way he could for anyone who came through his doors. Grandpa's house was the place to go for love, support, sanctuary, and a good meal; it was home away from home at Grandpa's house.

Grandpa, you made Grandpa's house the reality that it was for me, and everyone else you welcomed into your home. Thank you for such fond memories, memories I shall cherish for the rest of my life. I love you so very much. You shall be in my heart, my life, forever. May you rest in peace.

Your eldest granddaughter,
Jeanine Karmendy
