Patrick Lyle (Pat) Bryan died on February 27, 2024, in a boating accident while on a trip to The Bahamas. Pat was born on June 21, 1955, in Phillipsburg, KS, and was raised in Amory, MS. He received his undergraduate and pharmacy degrees from the University of Mississippi where he was a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity.

Pat was a long-time resident of Starkville, MS where he owned and managed rental properties after a career as a pharmacist. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Starkville where he served as an Elder and chaired the finance and property committees. He also held leadership positions with Boy Scout Troop 45 for nearly 20 years and served on the Planning and Zoning Committee for the City of Starkville.

Pat was preceded in death by his parents, Ruth Ausbon Bryan and Dalton Bryan; brother, Hugh Adams Bryan; stepsister, Shelba Ann Bryan Otts; and stepbrother, Dalton Boyd Bryan.

Pat is survived by his wife, Laura Maddin Bryan; son, John Dalton (Jack) Bryan and his wife, Tanner; sister, Lady Bryan Holman and her husband, Terry; brother, Mike Bryan; sister-in-law, Mary Lee Maddin Puckett and her husband, Ben; sister-in-law, Keith Maddin; and stepsisters, Myra Bryan Hamerling and Janice Bryan Franks.

Pat leaves nieces Mandy Fowlkes Taylor and her husband, Brian; Kayla Fowlkes Rigdon and her husband, Ricky; Mary Keith Puckett Rusbridge and her husband, Patrick; Maddin McCord Hutto and her husband, Hank; and nephews Benjamin Todd Puckett, Jr. and his wife, Alicia; Matthew Steven McCord and his wife, Ellen; and John Hayes McCord and his wife, Emma. In addition, he leaves 11 great nieces and nephews.

Pat was an avid outdoorsman enjoying hunting, fishing, and sailing trips, and sporting events, where he was always joined by family and friends. He was devoted to his family and to his many friends who he loved like family. Young family members and friends benefited greatly from his help, guidance, and encouragement through the years.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 9 at the First Presbyterian Church of Starkville at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will take place prior to the service from 9:30 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. A committal service will be held at 3:00 p.m. at the Starkville Episcopal Church of the Resurrection.
