David Reginald Paul Jones Obituary
David Reginald Paul Jones
March 27, 1973 ~ March 3, 2015
San Francisco, CA
David Jones died in San Francisco on March 3, 2015. He was the beloved son of Reggie and Anne Jones (Carmel Valley), brother of Jennifer, Megan (Stephen) and Grace, uncle of Emma, Sophie and Bryce and leaves many relatives in Wales and England. Until college David lived in Pacific Palisades, Los Angeles, where he attended Palisades Elementary, Paul Revere Junior High, and Palisades High School.
David graduated from San Francisco State University earning a BA in Cinema. While in college, and during his early music career, he worked at the Hard Rock Café and Straits Café. Initially inspired by the British Band, "The Clash", he became a well known musician in the Alternative Rock scene. Following his first record, "After School Special", made with high school friends, he was the co-creator of the band "Enemy You" for which he wrote music, and lyrics, played guitar and was lead vocalist. The band performed at venues in San Francisco, toured in the US and Europe, and recorded under several labels. For the past 13 years David was employed at the San Francisco Superior Court where he was currently a Court Clerk 3. He was greatly loved and respected by the Court and the Public Defender's Office. Before proceedings in court on the day after his death, several judges read announcements of his passing.
David leaves his family, numerous friends from childhood onwards, band members, musicians, fans and fellow workers who have all expressed their grief and who loved, respected and admired him for his creativity, work ethic, kindness and quirky sense of humor. We are devastated by his death and are deeply grateful to everyone for their expressions of sympathy, love and support. A remembrance celebration will be held in the Bay Area on March 28.
We love you David and will miss you terribly. So sorry we couldn't keep the demons of depression at bay. We commit you into the hands of God Who delights in mercy (Micah 7:18). May you rest in peace.
