Long, Mr. Orlando Alonzo " Big O" a former resident of Montgomery, AL transitioned to his new home on Saturday, November 10, 2012 while at his earthly home in Atlanta, GA. Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 17, 2012 at 1:30 PM from Maggie Street Missionary Baptist Church wit Rev. Ezekiel Pettway, Sr., officiating. Interment will follow in Eastwood Memorial Gardens with Ross-Clayton Funeral Home, Inc., directing. Mr. Long will lie in repose at the church one hour prior to the funeral service. Orlando was preceded in death by his brother Stanley Rogers, and grandparents, Lorraine Jackson Freeman, Brown Long, Odessa (Doll) Peterson and Timothy Peterson. Memories of his life will be cherished by his father, Rev. Walter L. Long, Sr.; mother, Timothy Mae Long; children, Tara Algere, Glenda Algere Jackson, and Donald Long; grandsons, Jaron Algere and Joshua Orlando Long; granddaughter, Paige Algere; brothers, Walter L. Long, Jr. and Wayne D. Rogers; sister, Blanche Rogers; uncle, Joseph Wilbert Brooks; aunt, Alice M. Peterson; great-aunt, Ophelia Jackson Johnson; devoted niece, LaToya Long; niece, Shanda Long; nephew, Orlando Jackson; devoted friends, Gino and Sandra Wright and Charles Spencer; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
