Charles Bailey

Obituary Condolences

Bailey, Sr., Mr. Charles Everett was born in Montgomery, Alabama, on April 6, 1946 to Johnnie and Bessie Johnson Bailey. In 1964 Bailey graduated from Booker T. Washington High School of Montgomery, Alabama. Yet, long after his arrival in Cleveland, Ohio, Bailey continued to reflect fondly on his childhood in Montgomery, especially the many times he mowed the lawn at the home of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., on South Jackson Street. Bailey began to call Cleveland home in 1966. Soon after his arrival, he met and subsequently married Nancy Peacock, who preceded him in death. He retired from the Pepsi Cola Company after 35 years of service. Bailey submitted to the will of his Heavenly Father on June 28, 2014. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Kimberly Bailey; parents, Johnnie and Bessie Johnson Bailey; three brothers and three sisters. Left to share precious memories of his life are one daughter, Rosetta (Eugene) Gloster, Cleveland; two sons, Herman Bailey, Cleveland, and Charles, Jr., Pennsylvania; two sisters, Dorothy Bailey Williams, San Francisco, CA and Lola Mitchell, Pike Road, AL; one brother, Will Arthur Bailey, Cleveland; two aunts, Ada Bailey Todd, Cleveland and Lottie Parks Bailey, Montgomery, AL; nine grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and a host of caring nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends. Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 5, 2014 at 10:00 AM at the Everlasting Missionary Baptist Church, 579 Eddy Road, Cleveland, Ohio. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Pernell Jones and Sons Funeral Home, 7120 Cedar Ave. Cleveland, OH 44103 / 216-431-9205. Ross-Clayton Funeral Home, Inc., announcing.
