With a heavy heart, we announce the passing of our beloved mommy Memy Yannakis on Saturday, September 28, 2013. She was the beloved wife of Gerry Yannakis. She is the mother of three daughters; Aglaia and husband Domenic, Artemis and Peter, Lydia and husband Frank. She has six lovely grandchildren; Amanda, Anthony, Carl, Bianca, Daniel and Kayla. She leaves behind many beautiful memories to us. She was a woman who loved life to the fullest, gave joy, strength and love to everyone. She fought hard to survive the cancer for 12 long years, always stayed positive, strong, fearless and full of laughter no matter what. Her positivity and strength was infectious. Much loved by many close relatives and friends and strangers alike . Her favourite two sayings were: "Live life and laugh, and I will make you cookies". We want to thank many people who were always there to support her, and love her. The compassion and unparallel medical attention of Dr. Patenaude, Dr. Melnychuk , Dr. Cohen and Matoula at the Jewish General Hospital made a difference in her quality of life. In memory of Memy Yannakis, in lieu of flowers, a donation to the Cure Foundation is appreciated. The wake will be held at Urgel Bourgie, 1255 rue Beaumont on Wednesday, October 2nd between 4- 9 p.m. The Mass will follow at St? George Cathedral on Thursday, October 3rd at 11 a.m.
We will miss you dearly mommy, wife and grand mommy!!! You will be in our hearts forever, our guardian angel we miss you dearly!
