ASHER, Zev Moses
After an epic fight with illness following a blood stem cell transplant, on Wednesday, August 7, 2013 at the age of fifty. Zev was one of a kind. He was a respected filmmaker, musician and writer who collaborated on art projects all over the world. Zev had a big heart, a great sense of humour, and courage beyond words. He will always be loved and fondly remembered by his parents Stanley and Sharon (née Segall); his sisters Beth (Fabio Pinzari), and Judith (George Ulrich); and by his partner Joanne Shiller. Zev was the much beloved uncle of Joshua Ulrich, Sophia Pinzari, and Samuel Ulrich; cherished nephew of Norman Asher, Irene Asher; and cousin of Alan (Laura) and family, Brian (Echo), and Karen (Kevin) Asher. He will be remembered with love by many family members, friends and collaborators around the world. We wish to express our profound gratitude to the Stem Cell Transplant team of doctors, nurses, professionals, and staff of 5 CD at the Maisonneuve-Rosemont Hospital. We will always remember their professionalism and humanity.
