This really comes as a shock to me. Jeff was my football coach in Chomedey when I was a kid. I don't think he himself could have known the impact he would have on my life. He was a motivator like none other. He showed us that we are capable of putting out a 110% effort and that would be our key to success. Our biggest game was in the Laval finals against St. Martin. The match up greatly resembles the 1980 Lake Placid miracle on ice game. We were no match for our opponent, talent wise. But Jeff had us believe so much that a small guy giving everything he has is better than a big guy only giving a part of himself. We won that game 6-0. Even today, when a challenge faces me, I hear his strong voice, "dig, dig, dig." Then the impossible suddenly becomes reality.
We all respected him and loved him. you gave me so much Jeff and I'll never forget you.
My deepest condolences to his family.

During my college days in Montreal Jeff was my very best bud. I loved him and his cousin Neil very much because they were are good people. I have so many wonderful memories of Jeff. Working with him at Hillel on the Ethiopian and the Soviet Jewry Task forces, the Israeli folk dancing(still have two left feet), the shabbat dinners and passover at his place in Cote St. Luc at the time, his pride and love for his brother the artist, the moment he became a father for the first time, and the way he supported me when I was a victim of an anti semitic act are just a few examples of those memories. I am deeply sadden to hear of his loss. He will be greatly missed. His memory will always be blessing to me.
My condolences to his family. With deepest sympathy,
Mike Berkley

To the Simboli Family,
I am so sorry to hear about the passing of Jeff. It has been many years since I have seen him but I will always remember the fun times we had at our cousins bar mitzvahs! He was always cheerful, fun of fun and mischief. May you get confort in the memories of dear Jeff. May he rest in peace. My sincerest sympathies to you all.

Dearest Irma, Jean Philippe & Gaby,
Jeff was taken from you all far too soon. It is not fair. He was a person loved by so many people, that we hope all the love that is pouring out now will carry you through the next days of your lives. Not too many people could have touched so many others lives! Jeff was unique that way.
We were truly sorry to have to come to Montreal for yet another funeral but we are glad to have shared a tribute to Jeffrey with all of his friends and relaitves at Paperman's.
When I was young I remember Jeff always being there to protect me, always ready to step in if a boy ever bothered me at school. Uncle Tony would say, "who's bugging you?", "Let me tell Jeff, he'll fix them!" And of course who could forget his "big bear hugs".
We will miss him very much.
All our love to you,
Cheryl, Ben, Mollie, Daniel & Leeza Frank (Glazer)

To Irma, Jean-Phillippe and Gabrielle: I cannot begin to appreciate your loss. Find strength in the memories of what a goodhearted person Jeff was.
To my cousin and friend Jeff "the Rabbi" Simboli:
I will miss you. I will never forget all the good times (you know what I mean) at Hillel, Uppercase Promotions, computers, the flower store, Israeli Folk dancing on the mountain (I still don't have rhythm) and on and on.
Goodbye...

I was so saddened to hear of Jeff's sudden passing. Hard to believe that I have not seen him in over 30 years since the great old Chomedey days. He always had a kind word, a friendly smile and good joke.I am sorry I never bumped into him during my visits to Mtl. I wish you, his wife and family not to know any more tragedy in your life, only "nachat"....Ira Boeko

Jeff was a special person who's effusive energy and positive outlook brought joy and inspiration to me (and many others) when I was a younger. We only recently got in touch again and I had a chance to see how proud he was of his beautiful family. I can't believe he's gone.
My deepest sympathies and condolences to the family.
