Audrey Cadieux Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 18, 2017.
Audrey Louise Cadieux (née Crocker) July 14, 2017 Audrey Louise Crocker Cadieux passed to another world on July 14 after a 20 year battle with cancer which she fought valiantly. Taken away too young and too active with much to live for. She was born in Truro Nova Scotia and, along with her two older sisters, spent their summers at Periwinkle beach not far from Tatamagouche, Nova Scotia. Graduated from the Royal Victoria Hospital, then practiced nursing in London, England and, after a trip to Israel, practiced at the National Defence Center in Ottawa where she met her future husband Jim Cadieux, then a Flight Lieutenant in the RCAF. With Jim, she moved to Kingston so Jim could go to graduate school to obtain an MBA at Queen's University. Moved to Ottawa then Montreal. Two kids later, she went back to school to obtain her degree in Public Health and then another degree in Fine Arts. Always active, she worked in public health, took care of the kids and started painting as a hobby. Followed Jim to New York then Paris when Jim was on tours of duty with Price Waterhouse Coopers. In Paris, she was part of the Canadian Women Artist Group and displayed several of her works in Paris galleries. Back to Montreal, she took her certificate to teach English as a second language, joined a dragon boat team and was active at the Beaconsfield Golf Club where she was Captain. Became an active curler and continued her interest in painting. Audrey's love for her daughter Chantale and her son Jamie and her grandchildren Ryan, Jacob, Delphine, Annabelle and Malcom was without bound - they were always in her spirit and heart. Audrey's smile will be missed by all. God Bless and you will always be with us. At the request of the family there will be a private family ceremony to help her to a new world where we will meet again at another time. The family expresses its thanks to the staff of the Jewish General Hospital for their care and assistance. A celebration of life for friends will be held at a later date.
