Betty Jane (Shullick) Kosakowski Obituary
Betty Jane Kosakowski (nee Shullick), 83, of Spencer, died unexpectedly on Thursday February 8, 2018 at the home of her daughter Janet Ensign whom she lived with.
She was born October 4, 1934 in Star Junction, Pennsylvania and had resided in Spencer since 2006 moving from Lorain where she had lived most of her life.
Betty graduated from Clearview High School. She worked as a Teacher's Aid at Garfield Elementary School in Lorain and as a Cook & Server for Bill & Don's Catering in Lorain.
She was a member of St. Peter Parish in Lorain. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren and going to the movies with them. She was loved by everybody and enjoyed baking, cooking and playing bingo.
She is survived by her sons: John V. Kosakowski, Jr and Jeffrey Kosakowski (Mary), all of Lorain, twin daughters: Janet Ensign (Steve) of Spencer and Joan Hinkle (Roger) of Elyria; grandchildren: Steve Ensign Jr (fiancé Lindsey), Brian Ensign (Alee), Jonathan Kosakowski and Kelly Guzay; step grandchildren: Trista Tharp (Mike) and Jason Hinkle; great grandchildren: Raelyn Ensign, Kinleigh Ensign and Gavin Ensign; sisters: Moe Wyckoff (Garry) and Patty Shullick and brother Richard Shullick (Arnie).
She was preceded in death by her husband John V. "Ed" Kosakowski in 2006, daughter Linda Kosakowski, son James J. Kosakowski, parents John Shullick and Susie Shullick (nee Goffessi), brothers: Mike, Robert, John & Thomas Shullick, sister Loretta Whitaker and daughters-in- law Becky Kosakowski (nee Zaebst) and Denise Kosakowski (nee Miller).
The family will receive friends Sunday February 11 th from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at the Gluvna-Shimo- Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave, Lorain.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 11:00 am in the funeral chapel. The Rev. Gerald Keller will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Lorain.
