Clara Louise (Bush) Elliott Obituary
Clara Louise Elliott (nee Bush), age 74, of Ashland, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 2, 2018, at her home.
She was born on June 26, 1943 in Greensburg, Pa., moving to Lorain in 1955 and then to Ashland in 2002. After Clara married her beloved husband, she proudly became a wife and mother who cared for her family and home. She was a long-time member of Christian Life Church in Lorain, where she taught adult and youth Sunday School classes for many years. Clara loved wildlife, especially watching birds. Gardening, word matches, traveling, and reading the Bible were other things that she enjoyed doing as well. Above all things though, she enjoyed spending time with her family, which always brought her much joy.
She will be dearly missed by her husband of 55 years, Jerry Ray Elliott; her children, Jeff (Nona) Elliott, of Ashland, OH, Penny (Paul) Williams, of Wakeman, OH, John Elliott, of Amherst, OH, and Brian (Carmen) Elliott, of Venice, Fla.; grandchildren, Matthew Williams, Travis (Jessica) Elliott, Jerry Elliott, Adam Williams, Katie Elliott, Tyler Elliott, Hannah Williams, Sara Elliott, and Madison Elliott; brothers, Marshall (Maria) Bush, of Albuquerque, NM, and Robert (Pearl) Bush, of Amherst, OH; and sister, Sandy Leonard, of Amherst, OH.
Clara was preceded in death by her parents, Rev. Marshall and Betty (nee Johns) Bush; father and mother-in-law, Robert and Louise Elliott; brother-in-laws, Billy Elliott and Carl Leonard; sister-in-law, Sue Elliott; two nieces, Rebecca Fletcher and Lavonne Elliott; and a nephew, Joseph Leonard.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 7 from 1 to 3 and 5 to 7 pm, in the Dovin and Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center, 1110 Cooper Foster Park Road, Amherst, where her funeral service will be held on Monday, at 11:00 am. Her funeral service will be officiated by her grandson, Pastor Adam Williams. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park.
