Jane E. (Linden) Loewer Obituary
Jane E. Loewer (nee: Linden), 98 years of age, and a former resident of Elyria, passed away Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at Oakwood Manor in Vidor, Texas.
She was born May 21, 1919 in Elyria, Ohio. Jane had made her home in the Lorain County area, before moving to Texas in 2015 where she resided until her passing.
Jane along with her husband owned and operated Telegraph Road Supply for fifteen years before closing in 1974. She was also employed at Bendix, Worthington Ball, and J&B. She was a longtime member of St. Peter United Church of Christ in Amherst. Jane loved life and took flying lessons and had her first solo flight at the age of 55 and for her 80th birthday she took a hot air balloon ride.
Survivors include her son John L. Loewer (Valerie) of Lumberton, Texas; her daughters Elizabeth Mackall (Millard) of Chesapeake, Virginia, Brenda Bobino (Thomas) of Beaumont, Texas and Helene Fyffe (Ralph) of Las Vegas, Nevada; thirteen grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and one great great granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-one years, Ludwig Loewer on December 26, 1989; her daughter, Linda LeBleu in 1999; her brothers, Robert Linden and Joseph Linden; her sisters, Helen Gentile, Dorothy Bounds; and her parents, Joseph Francis and Alta Linden (nee: Squire).
Friends may call Monday, February 12, 2018, from 4-8 p.m. at the Hempel Funeral Home; 373 Cleveland Ave., Amherst. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. The Rev. Patrick Nicolino, pastor of First Congregational United Church of Christ in Elyria, will officiate. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, South Amherst.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to First Congregational United Church of Christ; 330 Second Street, Elyria, Ohio 44035.
