Daisy E. Day, 81, of Marseilles, passed away peacefully Sunday, January 17, 2021 at home. Born July 24, 1939 in Union City, TN, she was the daughter of the late Reverend Arnold and Annette Buol.
Daisy grew up in Plainfield IL and went to Lockport High School. She married Donald Day on July 23, 1960, and they raised their family on the family farm. In 2000, they retired from farming and moved to Verona.
She was a diehard Cubs fan and loved her two dogs Billy and Jim. She enjoyed all sports and bowled for many years.
She is survived by her daughter, Doreen Milliman; her son, David Day; three grandchildren: Kristin (Daniel) Butler, Ricky Milliman, and Rachel Milliman; two great-grandchildren: Emmy and Bella Butler; one brother, Gordon Coleman; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded by her parents; her husband, Donald on August 24, 2010; her son, Donnie; a sister Mary Smith; a niece Cindy Paisley and a nephew Rick Smith.
Visitation will be held Friday, January 22, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the U.C. Davis-Callahan Funeral Home in Morris. A Celebration of Daisy's Life will be Saturday, January 23, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home, officiated by Pastor Brian Hefner of the First Church of God in Marseilles. Burial will be Monday, January 25, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. in Wheatland Township Cemetery, 104th Street in Naperville.
Memorial contributions may be made in Daisy's name to Pet Project, Inc. in Marseilles at P.O. Box 163, Ottawa IL 61350.
