David MURRAY Obituary
Dad was one of the athletes from Motherwell Baths, to compete in the 1948 and 1952 Olympics. Also the 1947 and 1955 World Aquatic Championships.
A swimmer in individual events as a youth, then to waterpolo in world competition. He was a member of the British National Team and captain of the Scottish National Team. Predeceased, in 2012, by his loving wife Isobel (nee Law) of Airbles Road and son Colin, survived by his children, Allan, Lorea and Gordon. David moved his family to Vancouver, Canada in 1957 and had a lengthy career with La Farge Cement . Travelled with the family throughout the west coast of Canada and the U.S. Always the competitor, switching from swimming to curling and golf. Dad lived independently until he was 92 and in care he was the consummate entertainer, always with a song and a swimming lesson.
Always an Olympian, with his heart and his accent in Scotland.
