Jessie Hayes Gerard passed from this life August 29, 2018. She was born in Ft. Worth, Texas March 13, 1932. On august 27, 1948 Jessie married her childhood sweetheart, William F. (Bo) Gerard and they celebrated 66 years of marriage before his death February 3, 2015. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son Larry Hayes Gerard in 1976, and a daughter, windy Preston, in 2006. Surviving are a son, William Jr. aka Sonny, 2 daughters Cynde Poole and Nancy Teinert (Rebecca Cloud), granddaughters Stephanie Reece, Jennifer Bartlett, and Shawnna Teinert and 3 great-grandchildren all of Midland, granddaughter Tonya Abernathy and 3 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-granddaughter all of Aztec, NM. Also, a sister, Jean Tuner, of Dublin brother-in-law, Boyce Holder of Midland, and a number of nieces and nephews. Jessie was a graduate of Sweetwater Newman high School. When she retired in 1992 after 20 years woth the Corpus Christi Public Libraries, she and Bo returned to their hometown of Sweetwater. They enjoyed their home on Lake Sweetwater 16 years before moving to Midland in 2008 to be near family. She was a member of Westside Church of Christ in Midland. Services will be at the McCoy Chapel of Memories in Sweetwater September 1, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. Visitation will be Saturday from 1:00-2:00 p.m. at the funeral home and burial at Garden of Memories in Sweetwater. Pallbearers will be Terry Pafford, Rick Bishop, Sonny Poole, Jaime Rivers, Brian Lusk, Sonny Gerard.
