Margie Jean Griffin passed away Thursday, May 6, 2021 in Stanton, Texas. The family received friends on Sunday, May 9, 2021 from 5:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m. at Gilbreath Funeral Home in Stanton, TX. Funeral service was held on Monday, May 10, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Stanton. Burial followed at Evergreen Cemetery. She was born to Albert and Viola Louder on March 24, 1929. She lived in Stanton her entire life. She attended school in Stanton and graduated in 1946. At the age of 16, she went to work for the Martin County Judge B F White. Her next job was at the Chevrolet Dealership. In 1950 she began work at the B F White Motor Company Ford Dealership. She continued to work there for 70 years. She married Jack Ireton in 1950 and they became parents to Dennis in 1955 and Danny in 1960. After Jack's death in 1982, she married John Griffin in 1987. Margie loved Christmas and made every Christmas memorable for her family. She loved following her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren in all their events. She also followed the TTU Lady Red Raider basketball team for many years. She is preceded in death by her parents, brother, Tull Ray; sister, Mildred and husband, Jack Ireton; and her husband John Griffin. She is survived by her son, Dennis and wife, Judy Ireton of Stanton; son, Danny and wife, Ronda Ireton of Stanton; 5 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Pallbearers were Brandon Ireton, Matthew Ireton, Jonathan Ireton, Andrew Ireton, Braden Waggnor, Mike Waggnor, Tyler Waggnor and Jack Ireton. Honorary pallbearers were Cheto Morales, Randy Turner, Allan Corby, Tony Hill, A.J. Hill, David Billett, Trey Cleveland and Anthony Estrada. Memorial donations may be made to First Baptist Church Stanton, Box 1168, Stanton, Texas. Arrangements are under the direction of Gilbreath Funeral Home in Stanton, TX.
