On Friday June 1, 2018 Vickie Friday Van Ness, mother, daughter, sister, sister-in-law, aunt and friend passed away surrounded by her family at the age of 62. She battled heart disease for over a year until her heart could take no more. She will always be remembered by her family and friends, too numerous to list. Vickie will be remembered for many things, especially her amazing ability to help and care for others. She was born on September 12, 1955 in Midland Texas the second child of Corbie and Erma Friday. In the early 1990's she received her nursing license from Midland Community College and helped anyone that needed it. She touched more lives than she knew, including many of her doctors, nurses, and employees at her pharmacy. She enjoyed music, cooking and making those around her feel loved. Vickie is survived by her daughter Jessica Mintz, son-in-law Ofer Mintz, and grandson Robert Mintz of Austin, Tx; her brother Thomas Friday, sister-in-law Lavonya Friday, nephews David and Corbie Friday, and great niece Danica Friday all of Austin, Tx; her great nephew Daniel Friday of Stanton, Tx. and many cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents, Corbie Dee Friday and Erma Lee (Myers) Friday and her first daughter Natalie Navarro. A celebration of Vickie's life will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday June 23, 2018 at the Rochelle Baptist Church, 6102 SE 5th St, Rochelle, Tx 76872, followed by a gravesite service at the Rochelle cemetery. Special thanks to the Hospice group that made it possible for her to be at home with her family in the end. In lieu of flowers the family requests that a donation be made in memory of Vickie to the .
