Edward Winston, Jr. Robert "Bob" Edward Winston, Jr., 67, of Midland, Texas, passed away on Thursday, October 27, 2016. A Celebration Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at The Branch at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home in Midland. Bob was born on May 7, 1949 to Deasanta and Robert E. Winston Sr., in Springfield, Massachusetts and was raised in West Springfield, Massachusetts. He married Stephani Winston on June 22, 2008. Bob attended Lenox School for boys, graduated from Plymouth College of UNH, and received his Master's degree from Westfield State University. Bob worked as an Assistant Principal with Midland School District for many years. He finally found his calling in Sales with Baker Hughes. He is survived by his wife, Stephani Winston; four sons, Matt, Eric, Drew, and Tanner Winston; and by his mother, Deasanta Winston. He is preceded in death by his father, Robert E. Winston, Sr. The family prefers memorials be donated to Hospice of Midland. Arrangements are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Midland. The next generation of Winstons are following in the family tradition of excelling in athletics......Granddaughter Julie has verbally committed to attend UMass Amherst to be a member of the crew team...Jackson lives for his baseball...played on two different 8 and under teams this summer...so much fun to watch....basketball is around the corner...Josephine has started Tee Ball and Gymnastics...she is so fun to watch....Their Grandfather Winston would be so proud of them....

Bob or "Bobby" to me, could not have been more of a family man. The love and pride for all four of his sons as well as Stephanie was so clear and so strong- for as long as I can remember. When the grandkids came along you could see that pride all over his face. We did not grow up near each other geographically, but over the years, enjoyed family reunions and the like. Some of my more fond memories were at Texan games where we watched from the stands or Florida visits at the ocean. Another wonderful memory was swimming around with Bobby and Stephanie at Matthew and Nicole's wedding in Mexico. "Bob, We need another frozen drink!"...was a much-used phrase that weekend. I am so sorry for your loss ... Love you all.

We were all so sad as we followed Bob's battle over the past few months. We had hoped he would have found the strength to be better again. We lost a good friend way too early with so much to live for. He was so involved in sports especially football as Eric's number one supporter and fan. I will remind the next generation of Winston athletes that Grandfather is always looking down in support as they play in their games from here on.
