Miles passed away peacefully at home with his loving parents Kate and Kent by his side. Miles spent most of his short life battling cancer, but he met every challenge with a smile, and anyone who met him felt the pure joy that radiated from his very core. He loved laughing, peekaboo, mixing tunes at his DJ booth, ripping the door off his toy school bus, and eating clementines. Miles taught many lessons during his time with us, and we will forever celebrate the indelible marks he made on many lives. Cherished grandson of Jim and Cheryl Hammond and Brian and Chris Cavan. Treasured nephew to Sean and Charlene, Gavin and Sarah, and Neil and Claire. Sweetest baby cousin to Adyline, Bennett, Finn, Zephy, Benjamin and Maeve. Miles will always be remembered in the hearts of his extended family and all of Kate and Kent's dear friends. Special thank you to Miles' dedicated oncology teams at Sick Kids and Orillia Soldiers' Memorial, to his healthcare providers here in Muskoka and to the CHAMPS War Amps program. A virtual memorial is being arranged by Miles' parents. Details of the service will be provided privately. We encourage those who wish to attend, to email memorialformiles@gmail.com with a subject line of "Memorial for Miles". The family will respond to your request with the login credentials for the ceremony. In lieu of flowers, trees or candles, memorial donations are preferred, to support either the purchase of equipment for families and patients of the pediatric ward at Orillia Soldiers' Memorial Hospital at https://osmhfoundation.ca/donate/ (please specify in Memory of Miles Hammond) or War Amps Canada at https://www.waramps.ca/ways-to-give/in-memoriam/. Arrangements entrusted to Reynolds Funeral Home. Messages of condolence can be offered to Miles's family at www.reynoldsfuneral.com
