John Paul Licklider, age 84, of Carrollton, KY passed away on Tuesday, December 7, 2021, at his home. He was born in Carrollton, OH on December 2, 1937, to Garner Paul and Della Mefford Licklider [Earle]. John was a member of the First Baptist Church of Carrollton, a U.S. Air Force veteran and was the service manager for Craig's Lumber and Hardware for many years. In his spare time, he enjoyed woodworking, painting artwork and writing poetry.
Left to mourn his passing are his wife; Wanda Jean Skirvin Licklider, whom he married over 61 years ago on April 20, 1960, a daughter; Jeanne Licklider (Richard Winston) Brindley of Carrollton, KY, a sister; Mary Ann (Duper) Craig of Carrollton, KY, two grandchildren; Olivia Nicole Brindley of Carrollton, KY and Jonathan Paul Roger Licklider, Camp LeJeune, NC, a goddaughter; Anna Marie Webster, along with several cousins, nieces, and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, his stepfather; Charles Roger Earle and a son; Jonathan Paul Licklider.
A Memorial Service will be held at 4:00 P.M. on Monday, December 13, 2021, at the Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home with the Rev. Chris White officiating. Visitation will be from 2:30 p.m. until 4 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment of his ashes will take place at a later date.
Memorial gifts may take the form of contributions to: First Baptist Church Youth Group in care of the funeral home.
