AGE: 95 • formerly of Carteret
Jean Kosel 95, of Absecon, formerly of Carteret, died on Friday, April 19, 2013 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick. She was born in Carteret and lived there until moving to Galloway in 1990. Jean and her husband owned Kosel's Tavern in Carteret. She is predeceased by her husband, Stanley Kosel; her parents, Joseph and Catherine Markowitz and her two brothers, John and Michael Markowitz. Jean is survived by her two daughters, Joyce Malaquias and her husband, Frank of Sayreville and Carole Bean and her husband, Michael of Westerville, Ohio; her three grandchildren, Scott and his wife, Melanie Malaquias, Nicole Malaquias and Jeremy Kalupa; and her two great grandchildren, Daniel and Joaquin Malaquias. A Memorial Gathering will be held on Saturday, April 27, 2013, from 3PM to 4 PM at Synowiecki Funeral Home, 56 Carteret Avenue in Carteret. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or a charity of your choice would be appreciated. A private cremation as per her request was held.
