Steffie M. (nee Golowski) Brandis, aged 85 of Forked River, NJ passed away Feb. 24, 2013 in the comfort of her home. She was born and lived in Newark, NJ and moved to Forked River in 1989. Steffie was employed by the Ballantine Brewery and by the Newark Star Ledger from which she retired. She was pre-deceased by her beloved husband Teddy M. Brandis in 1970, her sister Josephine, and brother Milton Golowski. Steffie is survived by her brother Bruno Golowski, children Gregory J. Brandis and his wife Rita of Manhawkin, NJ and Christine M. Vidal and her husband Manuel of Lackawaxen, PA, grandchildren Dawn, Gregory Jr., Michael, Meagan and Paul, and by great-grandchildren Frank Leo IV, Kylie, Sydney, Kendall, Abigail and James.
Visitation will be Tuesday 2-4 & 7-9 at the Layton's Home For Funerals, Forked River. Relatives and friends may arrive at the funeral home Wednesday at 830 am. A 930 am funeral mass will follow at the Church of Saint Pius X, Forked River. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlinton, NJ.
