AGE: 32 • Forked River
David Joseph Matty, age 32 passed away on June 17th and went to heaven to be with the angels. He was the beloved son of Kalman 'Chip" Matty and Helen Baroni Matty, his brother Michael and his wife Melissa, his nephews, Jonathan and Timothy and niece, Emily. His aunts and uncles, Marie and Frank Jarusiewicz, Gregory and Desiree Baroni, Katie Baroni, Harry and Sandy Baroni. His cousins, Billy, Diane, Owen, Rachel, Gregory, Kaitlyn, Kyle and Christopher. His godparents, Renee and Frank Odenheimer and Billy Jarusiewicz. His godchildren, Mikie, Kaitlyn, Brody and Keith. His special aunts, Betty Daniel and Bebe Long as well as his many friends and his very special dog, 'Dixie.'
David was a graduate of Central Regional High School and went on to work at First Energy where he was a Lineman. Growing up David loved sports, in particular, soccer and basketball and was a Boy Scout. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying, kayaking, hunting, fishing and family ski trips. David was loved by everyone who met him. He had a kind, generous spirit and a heart of gold. He will be forever missed by his family and friends.
The family respectfully invites relatives and friends for the viewing on Thursday, from 2-4 & 7-9pm at the Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals 145 St. Catherine Blvd. Toms River, NJ. The funeral service will take place 10:00 am, Friday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at the Ocean County Memorial Park, Toms River, NJ. In lieu of flowers the family would like donations be made in David's memory to the Philip J. Citta Cancer Center c/o Community Medical Center, 99 Rt. 37 W.
