Edison
A. Bernice Steele, of Edison, died on Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at RWJU Hospital, New Brunswick.
She was born in Perth Amboy, was formerly of Avenel and has resided in Edison for the last 32 yrs. Graduated from Woodbridge High School in 1940. She was a member of St. Peters Episcopal Church in Perth Amboy where she taught Sunday School and belonged to the Young Peoples Fellowship Group at the Church. She was employed in the accounting and sales departments at General Cable Corp. in Perth Amboy for 44 years before retiring in 1987.
She was pre deceased by her beloved husband, Frank R. Steele who died in 2003, and her sisters Grace and Edith Hawrylko. She leaves behind many cousins, friends and her dog Daisy.
A Service of Requiem will be offered on Saturday, February 16, 2013 at 11 a.m at St. Peter's Episcopal Church, 183 Rector St. Perth Amboy. Visitation will be from 9 am to 11 am at the church. Entombment will follow in Woodbridge Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Avenue, Fords. If desired, donations may be made in her memory to the Living Memorial Fund at St. Peter's Episcopal Church 183 Rector St. , Perth Amboy, NJ 08861. I am so sad at the passing of my dear cousin Bernice. We only recently reconnected after many years. I thought we would have had more time together but it was not to be. You are at peace now with your love Frank.
