Lenora Sommer
South Bound Brook - Lenora Sommer, 89, died peacefully at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital- Somerset, on Friday, August 10, 2018, with her son Brian at her side.
Lenora was born in Brooklyn, New York and had lived in South Bound Brook for the past 59 years. She had been employed as a dispatcher for Somerset Medical Center from the 1970's through the 1990's. After retiring, she worked as a volunteer for Hospice and the Somerset Medical Center. . She loved to cook, and spending time with friends and family. In her spare time she loved going to bingo, knitting, sewing and needle point.
Lenora was predeceased by her beloved husband, Aaron in 1991, her dear daughter, Renee Karu in 2014 and her sister, Miriam Gelbert. Surviving are her sons, Martin and his wife Michele Sommer and their sons Shawn and Jared, of Newton, PA. Brian Sommer of South Bound Brook, nephew Lawrence Gelbert and niece Janet Steiner.
Funeral Services will be conducted by Rabbi Jack Kramer on Sunday, August 12, 2018, at 10:00 AM at the Hagan-Chamberlain Funeral Home, 225 Mountain Ave., Bound Brook, NJ . Burial will be at Beth Israel Cemetery, Woodbridge.
