Robert H. Amos


Mr. Robert Amos was born in 1925 to William and Carmen (Heath) Amos in the Bronx, NY. He lived there, Queens, and New Brunswick, NJ before coming to Somerset in 1961. Mr. Amos was a veteran, having served in the Navy during WWII. He worked in accounts receivable at the Boy Scouts of America in North Brunswick before retiring in 1980. Mr. Amos had been an active member of Somerset Presbyterian Church for many years, a lifetime member of the American Legion and an active member of the Franklin Twp. Senior Citizens club. Robert loved bowling, reading, collecting stamps, and cheering on the NY Yankees.

Surrounded by his family and friends, Robert Amos died on November 15th at Robert Wood Johnson in New Brunswick.

Mr. Amos is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Audrey (Fette) Amos; by their children, Karen Yacone and her husband Joe, and Robert S. Amos, both of Somerset; grandchildren, Jennifer Glazewski and her husband Jay and Brendon Amos; great-grandchildren Abigail, Gavin, Sarah, and Justin; and many close friends.

The funeral service will be held 10 am Wednesday at Gleason Funeral Home 1360 Hamilton St. Somerset, NJ 08873. Visitation will be Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9 at the funeral home.
