Roert J. Werner
AGE: 62 • formerly of Brick
Roger John Werner, 62, died Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2013. Mr. Werner moved to Caldwell in 2011 after living in Brick for 41 years. He was born in Orange and had also lived in Cedar Grove, Montclair, Bloomfield and Point Pleasant. Mr. Werner worked with the Arc of Ocean County and was a Medalist in the Special Olympics for many years. He was an active member of the Catholic community and enjoyed music, theater and art.
He is the brother of Sr. Honora Werner, O.P., Walter J. Werner Jr., and Margaret E. Becker of Springfield, VA. He is the uncle of Kirsten Werner, Jon Werner, Josh Werner and is also survived by 3 grandnieces and 2 grandnephews.
Visiting from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 3 in the Prout Funeral Home, (www.proutfuneralhome.com), 370 Bloomfield Ave., Verona. A Funeral Mass will be offered at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 4 in St. Catherine of Siena Infirmary Chapel, 7 Ryerson Ave., Caldwell. In lieu of flowers, donations to the St. Catherine Health Care Center, 7 Ryerson Ave., Caldwell, NJ 07006 or the Arc of Ocean County, 815 Cedar Bridge Ave., Lakewood, NJ 08701 would be appreciated.
